Savotta Side Pouch 8 l - Black

Side pouch offering a capacity of 8 liters in black color, crafted from robust 500D Cordura. This material is highly regarded for its outstanding abrasion and mechanical damage resistance. Reinforcements on the bottom and sides further enhance longevity and performance during demanding field applications. All fabrics comply with NIR (Near Infrared) requirements, ensuring minimized visibility in the infrared spectrum. Secure closure is provided by a zipper.

The zipper is protected by a cover, enhancing its resistance to moisture, dirt, and abrasion. A vertical webbing strap located on the front provides stabilization for the compression straps, ensuring consistent performance during load adjustment. The construction is further improved by a bottom drainage hole, which facilitates the removal of water and debris in field environments.

25 mm tape loop, D-ring

A 25 mm strap loop and a D-ring are positioned at the top of the rear inner wall for securing essential and small items. The flat rear compartment provides convenient organization for compact gear.

At the back, a PALS attachment system with integrated tabs offers modular compatibility.

PALS system

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

NIR-treated fabrics are designed to reduce the thermal emission and reflection of IR radiation, allowing the material's surface temperature to be kept close to ambient. This reduces the risk of detection of the wearer by electronic-optical surveillance systems, including night vision and infrared sensors.     The side pockets are of very good quality – I have several of them in different color and size variants. The 8L version is quite large and barely fits on my Savotta Jaakari L backpack – probably the 6L model would be a better option, but I wanted the largest possible capacity for my airsoft equipment. I recommend threading some paracord through the zippers to make them easier to find since they sometimes hide under the material.
