Savotta Side Pouch 8 l - MultiCam

Side pouch offering a capacity of 8 liters in Multicam camouflage, constructed from robust 500D Cordura, renowned for its outstanding resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage. Additional reinforcements on the bottom and sides enhance durability for demanding field conditions. Materials utilized adhere to NIR (Near Infrared) requirements, ensuring reduced detectability in the infrared range. Pouch closure is secured via a zipper.

Covered zipper, vertical stabilizing strip

The zipper is shielded, providing enhanced protection against moisture, dirt, and abrasion. A vertical webbing strap on the front helps secure the backpack’s compression straps, ensuring proper functionality and stability when compressing the load. Additionally, a drainage hole at the base allows efficient removal of water and debris during operations in the field.

25 mm tape loop, D-ring

A 25 mm strap loop combined with a D-ring is positioned at the top of the rear interior wall to secure small or valuable possessions. The flat compartment at the back enables straightforward organization of compact gear.

At the rear, a PALS mounting system equipped with attachment tabs is provided.

MultiCam Camouflage

MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage pattern introduced in 2002 by Crye Precision, a US-based company, in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) within the Objective Force Warrior program. Designed to provide maximum versatility, its purpose is to ensure effective concealment across diverse terrains and fluctuating environmental conditions. Featuring a spectrum of seven colors, the MultiCam design is characterized by smooth gradients transitioning between greens, browns, and beiges. This unique composition enables adaptive blending with surroundings, shifting to greener tones in wooded regions or to browns and beiges in arid landscapes—making it especially effective during autumn or among dry foliage across Central and Eastern Europe. MultiCam is recognized internationally and utilized by various military forces and specialized units. In 2010, the US Army formally adopted this pattern for troops deployed in Afghanistan, superseding the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Due to its availability for civilians, MultiCam remains a favored option for military enthusiasts and airsoft players alike.

Cordura feature
Cordura

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.

PALS system feature
PALS system

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) feature
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance)
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) is a material property of controlled reflection of radiation in the near-infrared (780-2500 nm) range, used primarily in tactical clothing and equipment. NIR-treated fabrics are designed to reduce the thermal emission and reflection of IR radiation, allowing the material's surface temperature to be kept close to ambient. This reduces the risk of detection of the wearer by electronic-optical surveillance systems, including night vision and infrared sensors. NIR technology significantly improves the effectiveness of camouflage in combat and low-light conditions.

The side pockets are of very good quality – I have several of them in different color and size variants. The 8L version is quite large and barely fits on my Savotta Jaakari L backpack – probably the 6L model would be a better option, but I wanted the largest possible capacity for my airsoft equipment. I recommend threading some paracord through the zippers to make them easier to find since they sometimes hide under the material.
