Savotta Side Pouch 8 l - Brown

Side pouch offering a capacity of 8 liters in brown, crafted from robust 500D Cordura, a fabric highly regarded for its outstanding resistance to abrasion and mechanical wear. Additional reinforcements have been applied to the base and sides, enhancing longevity during demanding outdoor operations. The selected materials comply with NIR (Near Infrared) standards, providing lower visibility in the infrared spectrum. Secure closure is provided by a zipper.

Covered zipper, vertical stabilizing strip

The covered zipper enhances protection against moisture, dirt, and abrasion. A vertical webbing strap on the front secures the backpack’s compression straps, ensuring optimal performance during load adjustment. At the bottom, a drainage hole efficiently expels water and debris when operating in the field.

25 mm tape loop, D-ring

Positioned at the top of the rear inner wall, a 25 mm strap loop together with a D-ring offers secure attachment points for small and valuable gear. The flat rear compartment allows for convenient organization of compact items.

A PALS system featuring tabs is integrated into the rear section.

PALS system

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) is a material property of controlled reflection of radiation in the near-infrared (780-2500 nm) range, used primarily in tactical clothing and equipment. NIR-treated fabrics are designed to reduce the thermal emission and reflection of IR radiation, allowing the material's surface temperature to be kept close to ambient. This reduces the risk of detection of the wearer by electronic-optical surveillance systems, including night vision and infrared sensors. NIR technology significantly improves the effectiveness of camouflage in combat and low-light conditions.

    The side pockets are of very good quality – I have several of them in different color and size variants. The 8L version is quite large and barely fits on my Savotta Jaakari L backpack – probably the 6L model would be a better option, but I wanted the largest possible capacity for my airsoft equipment. I recommend threading some paracord through the zippers to make them easier to find since they sometimes hide under the material.
