Savotta Varjelus 3x2 AR15-AK Placard Panel with Magazine Pouches - M05 Finnish Woodland Camo
Panel in M05 Finnish Woodland Camo camouflage intended for mounting on the Varjelus tactical vest from Savotta. It is equipped with 3 pouches for AR-15 and AK carbines, each of which holds up to two 30-round magazines. A total of up to six magazines can be carried
Rectangular compartments with flaps effectively secure the contents from falling out, while the adjustable elastic cords allow the retention force to be adjusted to the carried equipment. The model features a damage-resistant construction made mostly of durable 1000D Cordura.
damage-resistant 1000d cordura
The panel is made of 1000D Cordura, a polyamide fabric with high abrasion resistance, resistance to tearing, and intensive use. The material remains stable during repeated removal and insertion of magazines, and its stiffness helps maintain the proper shape of each compartment.
The reinforcing and mounting elements are made of polyester webbing. It is used for the buckles, loops, pull tabs, and load-bearing system attachment points. The webbing stabilizes the construction and allows installation of compatible G-hook, Tubes, and ROC buckles.
The combination of 1000D Cordura and polyester webbing provides mechanical resistance, stable attachment, and proper stiffness during use in demanding field conditions.
Reduced visibility in the infrared range
The model features properties that reduce the signature in the NIR range, that is near infrared. The materials, dyes, and finishing process used were selected to reduce the difference in infrared radiation reflection between the equipment surface and the surroundings.
The reduced contrast can make quick identification of the equipment more difficult during observation with night vision. This applies both to the main fabric and to the visible webbing elements, whose NIR reflection properties affect the module's overall signature.
3 double pouches with flaps
The panel is equipped with 3 double pouches. Each of them holds up to two 30-round magazines for AR-15 or AK and is fitted with a separate flap closed with velcro and webbing. The flaps protect the magazines from slipping out. The closure height can be adjusted to the type of magazine.
On the inner side of the flaps, special elements are used whose purpose is to reduce the noise generated when opening velcro fastenings. This solution allows control over the way the flap is opened and reduces the characteristic sound of velcro being pulled apart. This is important during use in situations requiring discretion.
elastic adjustment cords, drainage holes, webbing loops
The circumference of the compartments and the retention force can be adjusted with an elastic cord. This allows the pouch to be fitted to magazines of different shapes and fill levels. After folding the flap into the compartment, the cord can be tightened and the pouch used in an open configuration. This method provides faster access to a single magazine.
At the bottom of each compartment there are drainage holes allowing water to drain freely. Behind the flaps there are webbing loops through which an elastic cord can be routed and used to stabilize a radio or another item. In the lower corners there are pull tabs that make it easier to open the pouch, detach the velcro, and obtain a secure point of support for the fingers.
stable attachment to equipment
The rear part of the panel is equipped with low-profile G-hook hooks and a large velcro panel, allowing installation on compatible platforms. This combination ensures stable retention of the module while also allowing it to be quickly detached and the equipment configuration changed.
The G-hook hooks are attached using strong webbing, so they can be replaced if needed with Side Release quick-release buckles. The side loops allow the use of split QR buckles and systems such as Tubes and ROC.

M05 Woodland camouflage
The M05 camouflage (Finnish M05 Maastokuvio) is a family of pixelated camouflage patterns introduced into the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005 as a successor to the M91 pattern. It was developed based on digital analysis of photographs of Finnish forests taken in different seasons by the Finnish Forest Research Institute. The M05 family includes several variants, such as woodland, snow, and cold weather.
The main woodland version of M05 consists of patches in light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite, effectively replicating the structure of Finnish forests. Due to similar vegetation and terrain conditions, the M05 Woodland camouflage also performs well in the forests of Central and Eastern Europe, providing effective concealment in natural surroundings.

Savotta is a Finnish family brand founded in 1955 in Karstula, specializing in the design and production of backpacks, bags, tents, and field equipment for the military, rescue services, and outdoor enthusiasts. In 2025, the company celebrated its 70th anniversary, and it is now run by the third generation of the founding family. Savotta has worked with the Finnish Defence Forces since the 1960s, supplying solutions that meet military quality standards. The company focuses on durable, top-grade materials such as Cordura, with 97% of raw materials sourced from suppliers in the European Union. Savotta's proprietary solutions include the Rapid Adjustment Slider quick-adjustment system, frames made from polyethylene sheets, and laser-cut constructions in the PALS/MOLLE standard. Savotta products are designed in Finland and manufactured entirely within the European Union. Due to high demand, since 2025 production has been carried out in three countries: Finland, Estonia, and Poland, while the final quality control of every product takes place at the Finnish headquarters in Karstula.

The velcro panel is an area with sewn-on Velcro tape that allows easy attachment of various additional items, such as patches or pockets.
Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
