A wonderful, high-quality knife made from good materials. The blade is made of S-38 steel, a wonderful powder steel that cuts very well. Overall, it sharpens normally; if you know how to do it properly, it's easy to sharpen. It's a great knife with a very good lock. In my opinion, this is a wonderful knife with no drawbacks.
An enlarged version of one of the flagship models from the prestigious American brand Spyderco, an industry leader in premium folding knives, the Manix2 XL serves not only as a reliable EDC companion but also as a robust tactical folder. Offering a lightweight, highly efficient cutting solution, it stands as an attractive alternative to other full-sized knives from Strider, Zero Tolerance, or Extrema Ratio.
Built on a solid steel frame with G10 laminate scales, the construction is assembled using torx screws. The handle is highly durable with an ergonomic shape. A moderately aggressive texture on the scales ensures excellent anti-slip performance without causing excessive wear to pocket edges during insertion or removal.
Featuring a blade profile that blends the traits of drop point and spear point, the blade utilizes advanced, stainless powdered CPM S30V steel, well known for superior toughness and outstanding edge retention. Steel delivers high resilience alongside impressive sharpness preservation for extended use.
A flat grind leads to top-tier cutting performance. The blade includes a 14 mm thumb hole—an iconic feature and patented design of Spyderco—making ambidextrous, gloved opening quick and smooth. Security comes from a robust Ball Bearing Lock unique to the Manix2 XL.
Everyday portability is enhanced by a spring clip attached to the handle, enabling secure attachment to a belt or pocket edge. The reversible clip accommodates both right- and left-handed users.
Perfect for uniformed service members and users who demand a tough folding knife that excels as both a daily utility and an effective self-defense tool.

Spyderco is an American company based in Golden, Colorado, founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. The brand's origins are linked to the invention of the “Portable Hand,” which gave rise to the company's name, and in 1978, the innovative Tri-Angle Sharpmaker® was introduced. The breakthrough came in 1981 with the launch of the C01 Worker knife - the world's first model with a carrying clip, the distinctive Spyderhole opening, and the serrated SpyderEdge blade. Spyderco was also a pioneer in the use of new materials, being the first to introduce CPM S60V powder steel and H-1 stainless steel, designed for use in marine environments. For years, the brand has been collaborating with renowned knifemakers, including Al Mar, Ernest Emerson, and Marcin Slysz, creating unique models that have gained iconic status. The stylized spider logo symbolizes both the company's origins and Spyderco's values: precision, innovation, and high performance.

Strong, good steel, works flawlessly! I recommend it!
-
A big and strong knife, but if you want something really tough I'd choose something from Cold Steel; at this price, you can get a lot :D unless you don't like TAL, then Spider is okay.
-
Legendary Spyderco in XL size! Great knife! Just a bit too big for everyday pocket carry. I recommend it.
-
A piece of good steel - fits perfectly in hand - holds sharpness very well - not so difficult to sharpen - definitely not my last purchase from this company.

The S30V steel from Spyderco creates an extremely aggressive blade. The blade of this model is very versatile - good both for work and for slicing vegetables/fruits. The only downside for me is the lock mechanism. Maybe I wouldn't complain if I didn't have a comparison with the Benchmade Axis Lock. There it works beautifully - you can unlock the knife effortlessly with one hand, and the lock is very stable. Here it is also stable, but it works harder, which means that sometimes one hand is not enough ;)
