The knife has quite a few advantages, but the type of steel does not fully match the current price. The handle scales are made from pleasant-to-the-touch G10. It's not bad, but at the moment, it's a bit too expensive for my valuation.
Spyderco Tenacious 8Cr13MoV Folding Knife
Medium-sized folding utility knife, ideal for everyday carry. Provides outstanding value for the price—highly recommended!
Blade made of 8Cr13MoV steel, liner lock
The blade sports a profile that sits between a Drop-Point and a Clip-Point, crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel (comparable to Aus8). This steel offers easy sharpening, solid edge retention, and excellent resistance to corrosion. Featuring a full flat grind, the blade is equipped with a thumb hole, enabling convenient ambidextrous opening. Bronze washers on the pivot ensure an exceptionally smooth deployment of the blade. Secure locking in the open position is provided by a classic liner lock mechanism.
G10 scales
A robust framework of hardened stainless steel forms the core of the knife handle, with scales crafted from durable G10 glass-epoxy composite and secured by torx screws. An ergonomically contoured handle, combined with an anti-slip texture, guarantees a secure grip in various conditions. For optimal everyday portability, the handle features a resilient, reversible clip (4 positions), making it easy to attach the knife to a belt or pocket edge.

Spyderco is an American company based in Golden, Colorado, founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. The brand's origins are linked to the invention of the “Portable Hand,” which gave rise to the company's name, and in 1978, the innovative Tri-Angle Sharpmaker® was introduced. The breakthrough came in 1981 with the launch of the C01 Worker knife - the world's first model with a carrying clip, the distinctive Spyderhole opening, and the serrated SpyderEdge blade. Spyderco was also a pioneer in the use of new materials, being the first to introduce CPM S60V powder steel and H-1 stainless steel, designed for use in marine environments. For years, the brand has been collaborating with renowned knifemakers, including Al Mar, Ernest Emerson, and Marcin Slysz, creating unique models that have gained iconic status. The stylized spider logo symbolizes both the company's origins and Spyderco's values: precision, innovation, and high performance.

The knife is quite okay. Basically, it was my first Spyderco. However, it didn't win me over. Of course, it's a budget version, but a knife for this price should work smoothly out of the box. Meanwhile, it operated very stiffly and something seemed to creak. Knife oil didn't help. I decided to return it and buy something else. But besides that, it's sharp and has no play.

Great quality for a budget Spyderco folder. The G10 scales improve the grip, the steel is quite decent and easy to sharpen. This is a very good option for people looking for their first proper knife.
-
Ergonomic handle. The finish quality is on the level of Spyderco. The blade is made from Chinese steel commonly used for kitchen knives in the Far East (for better steel, Spyderco charges much more). The lock holds securely and the texture of the scales along with their shape ensures a firm grip. Highly recommended for everyday use. The very strong clip combined with the scale texture causes wear to pants at the attachment spot. Owning another knife from a reputable company brings joy from using a proven tool.

Very good knife at a good price. Although it’s made in China, there’s nothing to complain about. Spyderco even defends itself at this price. Of course, if it's Tenacious then only with G10 handle scales. The versions of Tenacious with lightweight handles do not feel as good in hand nor do they look as good.

My first Spyderco. Very good quality, first impressions are great, and the original design also appealed to me.
-
My first expensive knife. I bought it because I fell in love when I saw it. I’ve had it for a very long time. And I still love it. Discussions about steel, etc. are funny to me. I recommend it.
