It may seem like a small thing, but the carbine looks completely different with such an accent. Additionally, it is made of aluminum, so it won't rust, which can happen with the original steel ones.

The forward assist is very well made. It's not really a necessary upgrade in the AR15, but it goes very nicely with Aero Precision uppers and those milled by better manufacturers.
