The glasses are very well made, very light and comfortable, not too dark so they can be worn even on less sunny days, for me they are great. The price is a bit scary but I think they are worth their price.

Wiley X Founder Glasses - Captivate Polarized Black Mirror/Matte Black
High-comfort, precision-fit safety eyewear in the color Captivate Polarized Black Mirror/Matte Black featuring an oversized rectangular frame, accommodating large prescription lenses. The lenses offer mechanical durability, shielding eyes from debris, ricochets, and other projectiles, and comply with the requirements of class F (providing protection against objects weighing 0.86 g traveling at speeds of 45 m/s).
Wiley X ranks among the top providers of eye protection for the United States military, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts.
frames with triloid, HVP technology
Durable Triloid nylon frames designed with an anatomical profile offer a secure fit and maintain comfort even when wearing headphones or hearing protection. Non-slip rubber nose pads and temple tips provide a stable and secure hold on the face. Featuring HVP (High Velocity Protection) technology in both the frames and lenses, the glasses shield the eyes against injuries caused by high-speed projectiles. For enhanced side protection beyond the visor's coverage, detachable rotating side shields are included.
polycarbonate lenses with T-Shell coating and Captivate technology
Constructed from impact-resistant Selenite polycarbonate, the lenses deliver 12% light transmission. An additional layer of durable T-Shell coating offers robust scratch resistance, safeguarding the lenses against abrasion and extending their service life. Ideal for outdoor use in sunny conditions and environments with intense illumination.
Polarized lenses designed with advanced Captivate technology ensure effective shielding against harmful UVA and UVB rays. A protective oleophobic coating repels dust, dirt, oil, snow, and water, preventing these contaminants from adhering to the lens surface.
Standards and certifications
- EN.166F-- compliant with the European standard for impact protection from high-speed particles (Medium Energy Impact). Per regulations, both frame and visor are tested to endure the strike of a steel ball with a 6 mm diameter and a mass of 0.86 g, traveling at a velocity of 162 km/h.
- ANSI Z87.1-- specifies the visor and frame’s durability against impacts. Testing involves exposure to both a high-mass steel object (High Mass) and a high-velocity steel ball (High Velocity), ensuring robust defense against common mechanical threats.
- UV Protection-- visor ensures comprehensive shielding from UVA and UVB rays, providing a minimum of 99.9% blockage.

Selenite visors are made of unbreakable polycarbonate, which provides high visual clarity and UV protection.
T-Shell is a coating on Wiley X glasses that resists scratches, protects lenses from damage and extends their life.
Captivate lens technology is an advanced filter system used in sunglasses that aims to improve the quality of vision by filtering out harmful light and improving color perception and contrast.
The Oleophobic coating repels dirt, oil, water and other substances, so the lenses stay cleaner and easier to maintain. The technology makes the lenses more durable and comfortable to wear.
Z87.1 standard developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the durability of eye protectors. The standard includes two types of tests (3 tests) for the impact resistance of the lens and the stability of its seating in the frame: resistance to High Mass and High Velocity objects.
EN166F is the European standard for protection against the impact of accelerated objects (Medium Energy Impact). Class F mechanical strength means that, according to the standard, the frame and visors of the glasses will withstand the impact of a steel BBs with a diameter of 6 mm and a weight of 0.86 g, traveling at 45 m/s (162 km/h).
