The glasses are very well made, very light and comfortable, not too dark so they can be worn even on less sunny days, for me they are great. The price is a bit scary but I think they are worth their price.
Wiley X Founder Glasses - Captivate Polarized Blue/Gloss Crystal Grey
Ergonomically designed, secure-fit protective eyewear in Captivate Polarized Blue/Gloss Crystal Grey offers a spacious rectangular frame, accommodating larger prescription lenses. Enhanced mechanical strength of the lenses effectively shields eyes from flying debris, ricochets, and various projectiles, fully compliant with the standards of class F (protection against 0.86 g objects traveling at 45 m/s).
Wiley X ranks among the top suppliers of advanced eye protection for the United States military, sports professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts.
frames with triloid, HVP technology
Ergonomically contoured frames crafted from resilient Triloid nylon.Their streamlined design ensures a secure fit while maintaining superior comfort during use with headphones or hearing protection. Non-slip rubberized temple ends and nose padsguarantee the glasses remain firmly in place. Engineered with HVP technology (High Velocity Protection), both frames and lenses deliver effective defense against eye injuries caused by high-speed projectiles. Removable and rotating side shieldsoffer enhanced lateral protection from threats entering from angles that the main visor does not fully cover.
polycarbonate lenses with T-Shell coating and Captivate technology
Blue lenses crafted from impact-resistant Selenite polycarbonate ensure durability and safety. Designed with a light transmission rate of 11%, they are ideally suited for use in bright sunlight and high-glare conditions. A reinforced T-Shell coating offers outstanding resistance against scratches, defending the surface and significantly extending its service life. Recommended for outdoor missions and activities requiring reliable eye protection in intense lighting.
Polarized lenses engineered with advanced Captivate technology deliver comprehensive defense against harmful UVA and UVB rays. Their specialized oleophobic coating effectively repels dust, dirt, oil, snow, and moisture, helping to maintain clear vision and lens integrity in rugged environments.
Standards and certifications
- EN.166F—complies with the European standard for protection against the impact of rapidly moving particles (Medium Energy Impact). As specified by the standard, both the frame and visor resist the impact of a steel ball measuring 6 mm in diameter and weighing 0.86 g, traveling at a velocity of 162 km/h.
- ANSI Z87.1—specifies the impact resistance of the visor and frame. Testing includes both the impact of a large steel mass (High Mass) and a high-velocity steel ball (High Velocity), ensuring reliable protection against common mechanical threats.
- UV Protection—the visor ensures complete shielding from UVA and UVB radiation, blocking at least 99.9% of harmful rays.

Selenite visors are made of unbreakable polycarbonate, which provides high visual clarity and UV protection.
T-Shell is a coating on Wiley X glasses that resists scratches, protects lenses from damage and extends their life.
Captivate lens technology is an advanced filter system used in sunglasses that aims to improve the quality of vision by filtering out harmful light and improving color perception and contrast.
The Oleophobic coating repels dirt, oil, water and other substances, so the lenses stay cleaner and easier to maintain. The technology makes the lenses more durable and comfortable to wear.
Z87.1 standard developed by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the durability of eye protectors. The standard includes two types of tests (3 tests) for the impact resistance of the lens and the stability of its seating in the frame: resistance to High Mass and High Velocity objects.
EN166F is the European standard for protection against the impact of accelerated objects (Medium Energy Impact). Class F mechanical strength means that, according to the standard, the frame and visors of the glasses will withstand the impact of a steel BBs with a diameter of 6 mm and a weight of 0.86 g, traveling at 45 m/s (162 km/h).
