Baofeng UV-5R EU Mini 1600 mAh Radio - Orange
Baofeng UV-5R EU Mini serves as a compact, handheld dual-band transceiver, delivering up to 5 W of power. Outfitted with a DTMF keypad, an LCD screen, built-in headlamp, and FM radio functionality. The unit runs on a lithium-ion battery with a 1600 mAh capacity and offers recharging via a USB-C port.
Dual Watch function, Bluetooth module, VOX function
The Baofeng UV-5R EU Mini radio offers a Dual Watch feature, enabling users to monitor two channels at once. Communication takes place on the primary frequency while keeping track of a secondary frequency. Channel switching is managed via a designated button.
A color display, headlamp, and FM radio enhance the unit’s practicality for outdoor use. A keypad lock prevents accidental operation.
Programming the radio is possible directly through the keypad, with a computer, or via a dedicated Bluetooth application. The integrated Bluetooth module allows for wireless setup and configuration from a smartphone, ensuring simple and intuitive use.
The VOX feature supports voice-activated transmission, allowing hands-free communication without pressing the PTT button, which streamlines operation during missions requiring free hands.
CTCSS and DCS Tones
The CTCSS and DCS tone systems function in both normal and invert modes. By screening out unwanted transmissions, these systems ensure that only signals containing the designated tone or code are received, maintaining a reliable communication channel and minimizing interference.

-
Good value for the price. The range in open areas is very decent, and the configuration—although it takes a moment—offers plenty of options. It works well in the field and on trips.
-
For its size, the radio works really well. The range is satisfactory, operation is simple, and the battery easily lasts for extended use.
-
Small, lightweight, and surprisingly functional. It performs well in the field, and the distinctive color makes it easy to quickly find the equipment. Big plus for the possibility of charging via USB-C, so you don't have to carry an extra charger.
-
The radio is limited to frequencies of 144, 146, 380, and 400 MHz. It cannot transmit outside of these bands, nor can it be unlocked. It does not support transmission on PMR and commercial frequencies, which we use at work.
