A practical folding knife, envisioned by eight-year-old Gogo, daughter of the co-owner of Bestech Knives. The design took inspiration from a cricket. Developed in partnership with acclaimed knife designer Ostap Hel—recognized for his modern, minimalist designs and impressive functionality—the knife reflects a fusion of creativity and utility.
The collaboration yielded a compact folder that boasts a lightweight build and a distinctive look, seamlessly merging youthful imagination with expert attention to ergonomics and real-world usability.
The blade is crafted from 14C28N stainless steel, engineered by the Swedish firm Sandvik. The raw material’s chemical makeup has been refined for exceptional hardness. A balanced nitrogen content preserves corrosion resistance and reinforces edge retention. The presence of carbon supports superior cutting performance, while chromium delivers excellent protection against rust and oxidation. A DLC coating further enhances the blade’s durability.
Equipped with a Spear-Point blade, the model showcases a symmetrical profile and a sharp, precise tip, enabling accurate slicing and piercing operations. The blade measures 56 mm in length and is crafted with a smooth cutting edge, providing versatility for daily use and lighter outdoor applications. A flat grind design optimizes the blade’s cutting efficiency, minimizes resistance during cuts, and simplifies future sharpening.
A longitudinal fuller on the blade not only enhances the dynamic appearance but, more importantly, improves balance, offering greater control during operation.
A rugged handle featuring a non-slip texture is crafted from G10 laminate, a durable combination of fiberglass and epoxy resin. For comfortable daily carry, a resilient steel clip is included and can be repositioned to the opposite side of the handle.
Blade deployment utilizes a button that disengages the Button Lock mechanism, in combination with a controlled wrist movement. The opening action is further enhanced by the integration of a ceramic ball bearing on the knife's main pivot.
