Bestechman Cicada's Wing Micarta Folding Knife - Grey/Satin

The folding EDC (Every Day Carry - designed for daily use) knife features an 80 mm blade with a Sheepfoot profile crafted from 10Cr15MoV stainless steel. An ergonomic Micarta handle and integrated finger groove ensure a secure and comfortable grip. Enhanced by its lightweight construction and spring clip, this knife offers convenient portability, making it ideal for both everyday tasks and outdoor pursuits. Outfitted with a B-Lock mechanism for reliable operation.

10Cr15MoV stainless steel

Forged from 10Cr15MoV stainless steel, the blade offers exceptional resistance to corrosion, maintains its edge for extended periods, sharpens with ease, and stands up well against chipping. The hardening process achieves a range of 59 - 61 HRC.

Sheepfoot profile, good cutting properties

Equipped with a Sheepfoot blade profile, valued for its robust tip, straightforward sharpening, and excellent cutting efficiency. The blade measures 80 mm in length and 2.3 mm in thickness. Featuring a flat-ground edge (Flat Grind), the blade is treated with a satin finish for a distinctive semi-matte appearance.

B-Lock mechanism, thumb stud

Deployment of the knife utilizes a thumb stud, with blade opening enhanced by a ball bearing situated in the primary axis. Once opened, the blade is secured via a B-Lock mechanism.

Micarta, finger groove

The handle scales are crafted from robust Micarta, offering resistance to moisture, fluctuations in temperature, and mechanical impact. A non-slip surface texture delivers a firm and reliable grip throughout operation. Located at the end of the handle is a lanyard hole. A spring steel deep-carry clip (tip-up, right or left side carry) ensures convenient transport, making it simple to attach the knife to a belt or the edge of a pocket. The clip can be installed on either the right or left side for optimal carrying preference.

B-Lock feature
B-Lock
The B-Lock mechanism is Bestech's proprietary solution, inspired by the Axis Lock design. It uses a steel strip that slides in the handle guides to lock the blade pin, and is released by pulling the strip back on both sides of the knife. Thanks to springs, the system works smoothly and can be operated with one hand by both right- and left-handed users.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.
10Cr15MoV (10Cr15) feature
10Cr15MoV (10Cr15)
10Cr15MoV (10Cr15) is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel, developed as an equivalent to Japanese VG10 steel, referred to as “domestic VG10.” It contains approximately 1% carbon and approximately 15% chromium, with the addition of molybdenum and vanadium, which increase wear resistance, cutting edge stability, and aid in grain refinement. The high chromium and molybdenum content provides very good corrosion resistance in kitchen and field environments. After hardening, it achieves a hardness of 59-61 HRC, ensuring good edge retention while maintaining useful impact strength and micro-chip resistance.
