Ostap Hel is a respected Polish knife designer renowned for his distinctive, contemporary aesthetic. D2 tool steel

Forged from D2 tool steel, the blade delivers exceptional edge retention, outstanding durability, and robust resistance to chipping. Offering enhanced corrosion resistance when compared to standard high-carbon steels, D2 tool steel stands out for demanding environments.

Drop-Point blade, flat grind

Featuring a Drop-Point profile blade, the model boasts a blade length of 88.7 mm and a thickness of 3.2 mm. Enhanced by a flat grind, the blade delivers excellent cutting performance. The blade sports a two-tone finish: satin and stonewashed, creating a distinctive semi-matte appearance.

Flipper, ceramic ball bearings, Liner lock

Equipped with a flipper, the knife allows for effortless one-handed deployment. The action is streamlined thanks to a ceramic ball bearing integrated into the main pivot. A reliable Liner Lock mechanism ensures the blade stays securely in place during use.

G10 scales, steel clip

The scales of the ergonomically shaped handle are crafted from a durable G10 composite laminate, offering exceptional resistance to mechanical wear and adverse conditions. A non-slip surface texture guarantees a firm and reliable hold during operation.

A spring-loaded steel clip positioned for tip-up carry promotes convenient everyday use, enabling quick attachment to a belt or pocket seam. The clip is reversible and can be installed on either the right or left side.

    After continuous use (making sandwiches, cutting thin sticks [on the second day I accidentally cut my finger], and prying metal sheets of 1.0mm thickness at work) for more than 3 months, I have nothing to complain about. The cutting quality and workmanship are excellent, nothing comes loose or unscrews, and it unfolds very quickly. I can definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a pocket knife just in case.

    For four months, I used the Dundee model, but over time, the blade's bad geometry started to bother me. The Dundee splits rather than cuts, for example, an apple, so I switched to the Flick model, which cuts much better. The blade does not have a bulge that serves only for aesthetics, as in the Dundee. This bulge disrupts the geometry. The Flick's blade is flat. At first, I rejected this model because visually it reminded me of a 'kitchen knife.' Over time, I think the Flick is a better design. When folded, it is slim, carries well, light, the mechanics are great, and it has a much better-working blade. The finger cutout in the handle is also more comfortable than in the Dundee. From now on, the Dundee stays in the drawer. Flick in the pocket.

    For this price, it is a good quality knife. It is sharp and easy to sharpen. The opening mechanism has enough resistance that there is no concern the knife will open by itself, but the Bestechman brand is a Chinese brand and this knife was also made there.

    The knife is fantastic. The quality of workmanship, cutting, and sharpness are all at a high level. I definitely recommend it. At this price, it is really hard to find anything better!!!!!!!!!!!

    A project related to the Dundee. Slightly bigger, a bit lighter, more practical blade because it's without nooks and also cheaper (on a New Year's promotion). Lots of color variants. Before buying, you can try it out in a physical store.
