I bought this knife as a second one because it's worth having such a gem in a few places; it is very sharp and made of very good steel (+ "serration" - great). Beautiful design and handy handle.
Cold Steel Kobun AUS8A Knife
A tactical knife equipped with a Tanto profile blade, finished with a satin coating and crafted from AUS-8A stainless steel, renowned for its excellent resistance to corrosion. Functionality merges the utility of a survival knife with the performance expected from a combat blade. Engineered with reinforced Full Tang construction, the design offers exceptional strength and reliability. A black Kray-Ex handle delivers a firm and secure hold, enhanced by its anti-slip surface. The name pays homage to Japanese tradition, where "Kobun" stands for the rank of a warrior or soldier. Supplied with a Secure-Ex sheath, the set allows convenient attachment to a belt or tactical gear.
Japanese AUS-8A stainless steel
Constructed from AUS-8A stainless steel of Japanese origin, the blade delivers an optimal balance of corrosion resistance and edge retention. Expert heat treatment results in a hardness rating of 58-60 HRC.
Satin Tanto profile blade
Featuring a Tanto blade profile, the knife boasts a 139.7 mm long and 3.5 mm thick blade. A satin finish imparts a discreet, semi-matte look that helps to minimize unwanted glare. Precision cutting is ensured by a smooth cutting edge, crafted with a hollow grind. The profile’s trademark reinforced tip, with the full spine thickness extending almost to the very point, delivers exceptional durability. Reliable performance is guaranteed when tackling tough, challenging tasks.
Kray-Ex handle with anti-slip texture
Featuring a black handle crafted from Kray-Ex material with deep texturing, this design ensures a firm grip, even in wet or dirty conditions. Thanks to the Full Tang construction, where the tang extends the entire length of the handle and remains just slightly narrower than its width, exceptional strength and stability are achieved. A double-sided short cross guard reliably shields your hand from slipping onto the blade during use. A hole at the rear of the handle makes it easy to attach a lanyard or wrist strap.
sheath with Secure-Ex system clip
Supplied with a sheath utilizing the Secure-Ex system, the knife benefits from a lightweight and robust construction that stands up to demanding weather conditions. The sheath ensures reliable retention through a precisely fitted inlet, effectively preventing accidental release of the knife. Featuring a sturdy metal clip, the sheath can be rapidly secured to a belt, while multiple holes and pass-throughs offer versatile, multi-position attachment options to various gear, allowing the user to customize their carry method as needed.

Beautifully made knife, sharp, flat. Perfect for everyday use. A must-have for anyone who likes this type of blade. I recommend it. It’s really worth buying.
-
Very sharp and versatile (the blade has a saw). When ordering, I wondered if it would be too small, but it turned out the blade is long enough to be useful, while the knife itself is handy – it doesn't restrict freedom of movement. And that classic Japanese design!
-
A beautiful knife whose exquisite simplicity of form shows its ties to Japanese culture. Light, sleek, sharp, functional, suitable for everything. Intended for my son focused on a military path, but I'm tempted to buy one for myself as well.
-
A very decent knife. The price and the Japanese-style design are a plus. The steel in this price range is very good. The downside is sharpening those narrow serrations. You really have to work at it.
-
Made of high-quality steel, it guarantees high quality, holds its sharpness very well, and can serve as a hatchet in the forest. It is light yet made of very durable material. I highly recommend it to all survival enthusiasts; it's perfect for building a shelter and defending yourself from an unknown attacker or a large animal. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a sense of security and solo outings in the woods. A knife well worth recommending. Krzysztof W.

The knife is absolutely phenomenal, love at first sight. It's light and flat. Arrives properly sharpened. For people with large hands, it might be a little uncomfortable, but for me, it's perfect. The handle sticks to your hand, which can actually cause it to collect dirt.
