Satin Tanto profile blade

Featuring a Tanto blade profile, the knife boasts a 139.7 mm long and 3.5 mm thick blade. A satin finish imparts a discreet, semi-matte look that helps to minimize unwanted glare. Precision cutting is ensured by a smooth cutting edge, crafted with a hollow grind. The profile’s trademark reinforced tip, with the full spine thickness extending almost to the very point, delivers exceptional durability. Kray-Ex handle with anti-slip texture

Featuring a black handle crafted from Kray-Ex material with deep texturing, this design ensures a firm grip, even in wet or dirty conditions. Thanks to the Full Tang construction, where the tang extends the entire length of the handle and remains just slightly narrower than its width, exceptional strength and stability are achieved. A double-sided short cross guard reliably shields your hand from slipping onto the blade during use. A hole at the rear of the handle makes it easy to attach a lanyard or wrist strap.

Kray-Ex is a synthetic polymer with a rubber-like structure used by Cold Steel to manufacture knife handles. It is characterized by high adhesion and anti-slip properties, ensuring a secure grip even in high humidity, low temperatures, and with dirty hands. The material is flexible and absorbs shocks well, which increases comfort of use. Kray-Ex is also resistant to cracking, abrasion, chemicals, and adverse weather conditions, making handles made of this material durable and virtually maintenance-free. Cold Steel uses it in tactical, survival, and utility knives.

AUS-8A
AUS-8A is a Japanese stainless steel, equivalent to 440B steel, characterized by a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (0.7-0.75%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13-14.5%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Vanadium additives (up to 0.26%) improve the homogeneity of the steel's crystal structure and increase the blade's resistance to abrasion. The steel also contains molybdenum (0.1-0.3%), manganese (0.5%), silicon (0.4-1%), and nickel (0.49%). After proper heat treatment, AUS-8 steel achieves a hardness of 58-60 HRC, making it a solid material with good cutting properties and durability. The steel is widely used in mid-range knives, mainly produced in Japan and Taiwan, such as the popular Ontario RAT 1.

Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
