If you are looking for an indestructible everyday carry (EDC) knife, the Cold Steel SR1 Lite Tanto is an absolute legend! Its incredible strength comes from the Tri-Ad Lock patent – the most reliable lock on the market. The 8Cr14MoV blade holds an edge perfectly, and the ergonomic handle fits securely in the hand even during heavy work. It's a beast you can trust completely.
Cold Steel SR1 Lite 8Cr13MoV Folding Knife
A folding knife designed for everyday carry (EDC) and tactical use. The design is inspired by the legendary Survival Rescue Knife (SRK). The Spear-Point blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which offers excellent corrosion resistance. The smooth blade is finished with a satin finish. The black handle is made of Griv-Ex composite with a non-slip texture. The knife opens using a double-sided thumb stud, and the Tri-Ad Lock ensures safe use.
8Cr13MoV stainless steel
The blade is made of Chinese 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which offers a good balance between edge retention, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. After proper heat treatment, it achieves a hardness of 55–58 HRC.
Spear-point blade with satin finish
The smooth blade with a Spear-Point profile is 101 mm long and 4.8 mm thick. It features a high-flat grind, which ensures effective cutting and precise task execution. The blade geometry ensures high cutting efficiency while maintaining adequate strength, allowing for more intensive use of the knife. The blade is finished with a satin finish, which gives it a semi-matte surface and increases its resistance to scratches.
non-slip Griv-Ex composite handle, clip
The handle scales are made of durable Griv-Ex composite, which, thanks to its non-slip texture, ensures a stable and secure grip. They also form a small, one-sided cross guard that effectively protects the hand from slipping onto the blade. The finger groove increases control over the knife, even with wet or dirty hands. The back of the handle features jimping, which provides a secure thumb rest and enhances control over the blade while making cuts.
A spring-loaded clip on the handle ensures convenience for everyday carrying, allowing the knife to be clipped to a belt or the edge of a pocket. The clip is reversible and can be mounted to suit both right- and left-handed users. A hole at the end of the handle allows a safety cord or lanyard to be threaded through it.
Tri-Ad lock, thumb disc
Safety during use is ensured by the Tri-Ad Lock, considered one of the most durable and reliable locking mechanisms used in folding knives. The design utilizes a stop pin that absorbs loads from the blade, effectively distributing them to the handle and reducing wear on the locking components. This system automatically adjusts during use, ensuring it remains reliable for a long time. The blade features a thumb disc, allowing for comfortable opening of the knife with either hand and quick deployment of the blade by catching it on the edge of a pocket.

A hefty piece of knife, factory wickedly sharp, thick massive blade. Despite being a budget version, it must be said it's well made, grinds are symmetrical, everything fits nicely (except that the "bolt" of the lock on my piece has a slight play). It's strong and can handle any tough task. The steel is decent and easy to sharpen, so at this price you can't complain. Only the clip - insanely stiff.

It arrived today, and out of curiosity I tried slicing a tomato. It cuts such thin slices, it's a pleasure, so it's not true that a blade of this size can't cut thinly, for example a tomato.

I won't be original, I'll confirm the opinions of previous speakers: what a knife! The blade is made from nearly 5mm thick steel - tough as hell, the lock is just as thick, not thin sheets like in some liner locks, it's reliable. No play. Factory sharpened like a razor. They overdid the clip (in a good way?) - it's so stiff and thick you could break your nails and it's hard to bend. Luckily, there's also a hole for a lanyard. Overall, a medal-worthy knife.

An indestructible folder... almost flawless. Cold Steel makes incredibly attractive knives. I recommend it!

A piece of a good knife. I recommend it.

No complaints ;) highest quality

Incredibly durable! In this price range, an unbeatable bestseller! I recommend it!
-
Large, massive knife with excellent mechanics. It's not as heavy as you would think. Holds its edge remarkably well.
-
Massive knife with a durable blade, and even though the steel is just 8cr14mov, Cold Steel has hardened it very well so you don't have to worry about it being soft. I recommend it!
-
Excellent knife, great ergonomics and high-quality workmanship, a really good knife. Perfect for trips to the forest. I recommend it.

Knife used constantly, never gets boring. Very durable, I've batoned with it a lot and even chopped with it. I know the steel and have it in several knives - it's sufficient for me. The clip was very tight, and unfortunately snapped when I tried to bend it, but I got used to its absence. The lock makes this knife a monolith, I trust it more than some fixed blades. You can also fidget with it for fun. The legendary SRK in a folding version, a blast for me!

Large with massive power reserve, great lock, and good price. Disappears quickly from the shelves.

A true folding tank... no Strider comes close, and at a fraction of the price.

Great knife, the thick blade is suitable for heavy tasks and it's surprisingly sharp. This was my first knife that I didn't have to sharpen right out of the box. Very smooth opening - I personally open it with a quick wrist flick. The lock holds firmly, like all my Cold Steels, and the tri-ad lock has long been my favorite. The handle sits well in the hand, making it very safe and comfortable to use. I tested the knife while camping; in the photo it's next to the fixed-blade version, which is also great.
