UTP (Urban Tactical Pants) tactical trousers in ERDL camouflage, crafted from premium PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop fabric with a weight of 220 g/m2. This material provides outstanding resistance to abrasion and tearing. The thoughtfully designed pocket configuration and their strategic placement make these pants an excellent choice for use in both urban settings and during outdoor activities.

Durable PolyCotton Stretch fabric, abrasion-resistant lining and Rip-Stop weave

Crafted from PolyCotton Stretch fabric weighing 220 g/m2, these pants are made with a blend of cotton (50%) for breathability, durable polyester (48%), and flexible elastane (2%). The fit is tailored and secure, offering enhanced abrasion and tear resistance, while being lighter and drying more quickly compared to fabrics made of 100% cotton.

The fabric's structure is reinforced by thicker Rip-Stop weave threads, creating a mesh that effectively prevents damage from extending beyond the initial area.

12 practical pockets and compartments for protective inserts

Designed with twelve functional pockets, these pants offer exceptional storage options.

  • Featuring two traditional hip pockets with reinforced edges for added durability
  • Equipped with four thigh pockets, including two spacious ones secured by zippers and two slim versions fastened with Velcro
  • The back features four additional pockets: two large ones and two smaller ones located inside the larger pockets
  • Two concealed internal pockets at the groin area provide space for carrying a tactical flashlight or an extra magazine

Knee-level compartments inside the pant legs allow for the insertion of protective pads

Wide velcro for width adjustment, elastic webbing and loops for accouterment

A broad Velcro fastener replaces the button and offers up to 6 cm of adjustment. For enhanced fit to individual body shapes, an elastic band is integrated into the waistband. The two front belt loops are fitted with extra loops to facilitate the attachment of items such as a carabiner.

ERDL camouflage

The ERDL (Engineer Research and Development Laboratory) camouflage was developed in 1948 by an American research laboratory. It did not come into wide use until the 1960s, during the Vietnam War, mainly among special and reconnaissance units. It was on its basis that later designs, such as the Woodland and M81, known around the world today, were developed. The green-brown camouflage palette works well in dense vegetation, European deciduous forests, thickets and mixed woodlands.

    Very good quality, the trousers are made of durable and comfortable material. The number and placement of pockets is well thought out, you can easily take everyday essentials with you. Especially the Velcro pockets are great—they fit both a small wallet and a phone; mine fits perfectly. The grey color and cut are very versatile and don’t give an immediate military impression. Highly recommended.

    I recently bought this model of pants and I think it's a very good choice. The sizing was spot on in my case. I did buy longer ones and shortened them, but I always do that just in case I need some fabric for patches later on. The summer pants are very functional, big plus for the pockets. The camouflage, so far... rarely seen in the field. The pants are cool. I recommend them.

    These are comfortable trousers with many pockets, and at the same time they do not look overly military. The material is quite light and thin, and it is slightly see-through in the light, but despite that the trousers seem solid and breathable, so they are not too warm to wear. The cut is good and does not overly restrict freedom of movement. At the moment I do not have any major remarks, although I have only been wearing them for less than a week. Time will tell how they perform with further use. I chose size M Long; at 190 cm tall and 83 kg, they fit very well, although they could be minimally longer.

    The trousers are of very good quality, comfortable, made from decent material, and have a well-designed cut. Following the size chart, I chose 3LX, but they were definitely too large. At this price, and with the need to use tailoring services to have them adjusted, the whole purchase turned out to be quite expensive.

As for the trousers reviewed here, they are made of good material (it is worth waterproofing them), have many pockets, and are comfortable to wear. Proven especially in trekking conditions.

    The cut of the trousers is no different from the older version, so they suit me very well. The PolyCotton Stretch version is supposed to be more durable – we’ll see after a few washes. It is definitely more flexible than the older version. With a slight discount or promotion, you can buy them in bulk :)

    Well, unfortunately, Helikon Tex, the company whose UTP pants I have been buying for years (I have many pairs in different colors and camouflages), is now releasing these pants with simply worse workmanship. It's not even about the labels on the recycled gray paper (that's just eco hysteria), but maybe it seems like a detail—however, for me it's very important as it reflects on the whole product and the company. The pockets in these pants are 3 cm shallower. The legs in UTP jeans are also narrower. Pants of this sort aren't skinny jeans for fashion catalog models. People can think what they want, but for me it's a significant downside for this manufacturer.
