The assisted opening makes the knife work basically like an automatic. Very slim and disappears in the pocket. The steel is phenomenal, the best I have ever dealt with, and remains sharp for a very long time with normal use.
Folding pocket knife featuring a Wharncliffe blade crafted from CPM MagnaCut powdered steel. The blade is finished with the Stonewash method, resulting in a semi-matte look. Designed by renowned American knifemaker Ken Onion.
Utilization of CPM MagnaCut steel ensures a blade with outstanding wear resistance, excellent impact toughness, and impressive corrosion resistance. Maintenance is made easier compared to other steels of similar hardness, allowing for more straightforward sharpening.
Deployment is achieved with a dual thumb stud or via the flipper, both enhanced by the Speed-Safe assisted-opening mechanism, which engages manual action only at the initial phase.
The Leek model incorporates a sliding blade lock in the closed position, situated at the end of the handle, while a Liner Lock mechanism secures the blade when open. Lightweight, robust aluminum is used for the handle construction.
A tip-up/tip-down clip provides versatility for carrying the knife with the tip oriented either up or down, allowing the user to customize the carrying position.

Kershaw is an American knife brand, founded in 1974 by Pete Kershaw in Oregon, which from the very beginning has focused on the highest quality and practical solutions for hunters, anglers, and everyday users. In 1977, the company was acquired by the Japanese Kai Group, allowing it to combine American innovation with Japanese craftsmanship. In 1998, Kershaw revolutionized the market by introducing the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism, and in the following years won prestigious Blade Show awards for models such as the Tyrade with Composite Blade technology combining two different types of steel. The brand is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers, including Ken Onion, Ernest Emerson, and Rick Hinderer, which has resulted in iconic models such as the Leek and Cryo.
