A solid piece of steel, my specimen looks like it has been used long and often, with a few small chips in the very dull blade (at first it was as sharp as a theater prop). It took some effort to get the blade to a satisfactory state. Rather for the collection, as the blade profile is like a typical bayonet – just put it on a barrel and stab. It feels nice in hand, but cutting things isn't the most comfortable due to the shape and length of the blade. I don't regret the purchase, although I was quite surprised by the wear on my specimen. The leather belt attachment saves the terribly scratched sheath.

Swiss Army M57 Bayonet - used - Military Surplus
The Swiss Army military bayonet, manufactured since 1957, is designed for use with the SIG SG 510 and StG57 (Sturmgewehr 57) rifles. Featuring a double-sided cross guard, it effectively prevents the user's hand from sliding onto the blade. One side of the guard includes a hole for secure rifle attachment. A metal spring-loaded latch mechanism allows for quick and reliable mounting to the firearm. The knife's robust construction provides exceptional durability and high resistance to damage.
Durable materials
Featuring a blade crafted from robust and wear-resistant stainless steel, the bayonet delivers exceptional corrosion resistance. The handle, constructed from plastic, incorporates a ribbed design for an enhanced and secure grip.
Plastic sheath
The bayonet includes a sheath crafted from rugged plastic, specifically engineered for secure transport and storage. A drainage hole is integrated to facilitate the removal of water and debris. Inside, a sturdy metal clasp secures the bayonet and prevents accidental release. The set is further complemented by a leather frog, enabling attachment of the sheath to a belt.

Excellent. The serial number on the bayonet most likely matches the rifle's number. Minor marks, probably resulting from storage. Leather strap with tag. The scabbard has the date 1965. The scabbard is made of rigid plastic, plus a leather strap for the belt. Surprised by the quality and craftsmanship, it's almost a shame to use it. The size is also a plus, it's a big blade! Rather for display case or - on the wall, it's that nice.

I am very satisfied with this purchase - the bayonet is of excellent quality - not sharpened (because, after all, it's from surplus and it's not meant for slicing ham ;) - and although I would like it to be as sharp as my other knives, I don't want to 'separate' it from its original state. A very nice addition to this, after all, surplus item is an unused leather belt loop from the German company www.miltec.de, although it's labeled: J.Peter 81 Chur (and Chur is a city in Switzerland, after all) - so, it comes with a license for this item :)

An ideal replica of a bayonet. In my opinion, it is very faithful to the original. Very good quality workmanship. Well sharpened. Solid and durable. I definitely recommend it to military collectors.

I like it very much. The one I received bears signs of use and is not sharp. For me, that's an advantage because it has its own history and looks good with the new leather elements. At this price, I can easily recommend it to enrich a collection.

The knife surprised me a lot with its sharpness and precise workmanship. It works great as an interior decoration and also serves well as a throwing knife. I recommend it.
