Ticks rely on the Haller’s organ, situated on their first pair of legs, to detect hosts. The device emits ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 40 kHz, which interfere with this organ’s ability to receive external stimuli. An operational distance of approximately 1.5 meters ensures consistent protection.
A beige shell constructed from durable plastic encloses the unit. Compliance with the IP13 standard guarantees defense against solid objects larger than 50 mm and ensures water spray resistance from various directions at a 60-degree inclination.
Activation occurs by removing the tab, which switches the device on, indicated by LED flashes. Shutting off the device is not possible, and the operational lifespan is a minimum of 6 months. To verify the battery level, press the button—if the LED behind the grille flashes four times, the battery is sufficient. Fewer flashes mean replacement is necessary.
