Ticks pose the risk of transmitting dangerous diseases to both humans and animals, such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. Deployment of this device helps minimize the likelihood of bites and, therefore, reduces the potential threat of infection.
Ticks rely on the Haller’s organ, found on the tarsus of the first pair of legs, to detect their host. Ultrasonic waves at a 40 kHz frequency generated by the unit disrupt signal perception by this organ. An operational range of around 1.5 meters guarantees reliable protection.
An orange casing, manufactured from robust plastic, provides durability. Conformance to IP13 standards delivers defense against penetration by objects larger than 50 mm as well as resistance to water sprayed from multiple directions at an angle of 60 degrees.
Activating the product occurs by removing the tab, which triggers the device, with flashing LEDs serving as an operational indicator. Device deactivation is not possible, and the minimal operating lifespan is 6 months. For battery status verification, press the button—if the LED located behind the grille flashes four times, the battery is functional. Fewer flashes signal the need for device replacement.
For optimal functionality, TickLess must be fastened to the collar with the grille directed toward the animal’s body, ensuring proper dispersion of ultrasonic waves.
