Wisport Sparrow II 40L is a spacious backpack designed with durability and longevity in mind. It is excellent for organizing items, easily fits a laptop and tablet, and still leaves plenty of free space inside. It looks professional and, thanks to Cordura, is exceptionally resistant to damage. Additionally, the side compression straps stabilize the contents very well and prevent them from shifting, even when the backpack is not completely full.
Wisport Sparrow II Backpack 40 l - Coyote
An improved version of the best-selling Sparrow model! A compact 40-liter survival and military backpack made of 500D Cordura in Coyote. The design is based on the popular Raven urban model and has been adapted for heavy-duty outdoor use.
durable Cordura construction
The backpack is made of durable 500D Cordura. The material is highly resistant to mechanical damage, such as abrasion and tears, which significantly increases the backpack’s durability in the field.
2 compartments, 5 pockets, hydration system
The Sparrow II model features two spacious compartments. Inside the main compartment, on the back panel, there are four D-rings sewn in for attaching accessories. The auxiliary compartment includes an upgraded organizer that makes it easy to keep small items organized. Mesh pockets located in the main compartment are closed with zippers. The flap features a flat pocket the size of the main compartment and about 5 cm thick, which can hold maps, documents, and even a small laptop. There is a small pocket on the front of the flap.
Inside the backpack, there is a water tank attachment point, a tube outlet, and two straps (one on each shoulder strap) for securing the hydration system.
main zipper, protective flaps
The main closure of the backpack is a two-way zipper running along three edges of the flap, which allows for wide access to the interior of the main and auxiliary compartments. All zippers in the backpack are high-quality and wear-resistant and feature fabric pulls for easy operation while wearing gloves or in challenging terrain. Additionally, the zippers on the main compartments and front pocket are protected by protective flaps that limit the entry of water and dirt.
carrying system, compression straps, transport handle
The AFS - Air Flow System carrying system provides adequate structural rigidity, comfortable carrying and effective back ventilation. The comfort is also influenced by the quick-release elongated suspenders of adjustable length, as well as the chest and hip belt. The inner surfaces of the shoulder straps are made of dense, non-hooking material. At the back is a special tunnel designed for a backpack-compatible fiberglass frame (not included in the set).
The side walls each have two, adjustable-length straps fastened with 30 mm fastex buckles. They are used to compress the backpack and can be useful for stable attachment of equipment carried outside - a jacket, sleeping pad, carrimata or even a camouflage net. A wide and long transport handle is placed on the top of the main compartment, making it much easier to carry.
MOLLE / PALS
MOLLE/PALS webbing has been sewn on the front, bottom and sides, allowing to mount additional accouterment or carry urgent need items requiring quick access.
velcro panel
On the front of the backpack there is a velcro panel, which allows you to attach any patches or emblems, such as the national flag, unit emblem or so-called Morale Patches.
Set elements
The backpack comes with a practical rain cover, which effectively protects the backpack and its contents from moisture. It works well during heavy rainfall, as well as in difficult terrain conditions, protecting the equipment from getting wet.
manufacturer's warranty
The backpack comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.
Fastex buckles are a popular type of fastener consisting of two parts that snap together, and pressing both sides of the buckle on the sides causes it to come undone. They are often used to fasten belts, backpack pockets and other items where fast and secure fastening and unfastening are crucial.
AFS (Air Flow System) is a back ventilation system, based on a back panel set on a specially curved frame with a spacer mesh. The design ensures that the backpack is stiffened and provides adequate air circulation by minimizing the points of contact between the backpack and the user's body.
MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.
High-quality buckles and fasteners distinguished by their durability and reliability. Made of durable materials such as nylon or polyamide, used in products that require a solid and secure fastener, providing security and comfort.
Duraflex buckles are a type of high-quality buckles and fasteners made of durable materials such as polyamide or polypropylene. They are weatherproof, UV-resistant and resistant to mechanical damage. Duraflex are used for fastening and adjusting in backpacks, bags, clothing and military equipment, providing reliable and durable fastening solutions.
PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

A practical urban backpack with a comfortable design. Made of durable materials and high-quality fittings. The main compartment is spacious. The pocket at the back allows you to carry a 14-inch laptop. Inside there is a mesh organizer that can hold many things. I am very satisfied with the purchase of this backpack.

Very good backpack, I’ve taken it on several hikes. It’s comfortable to carry equipment in it (surprisingly so for a knapsack). Once the hip belt is detached, it’s a great alternative to a cabin suitcase (same dimensions). I always travel with it by plane, and it works perfectly. The materials it’s made of are excellent, I’ve had it for over a year and it still looks brand new. The pocket sewn at the top of the backpack is very functional, you can easily store headphones, gloves, or glasses there, it’s not obvious and gives quick access to the most necessary things. The backpack really only has one flaw. It’s been mentioned by other users before – the lack of straps to tighten the harnesses to the top of the backpack, which causes the upper part to stick out when fully loaded, and it doesn’t look good. I’m surprised the Wisport designers released it in this state. It irritated me a lot, so I decided to fix it myself, and I did so successfully! At this price and for this class of equipment, it really shouldn’t be necessary to do it yourself... I’m adding photos to the review for other users and the Wisport designers—it would be nice to add such a feature to these backpacks and offer an aftermarket modification to those who trusted the brand and bought it believing someone had thought it through, which wasn’t entirely the case this time. (My update was carried out using original Wisport parts – I just had to modify the buckles mounted on the straps, so as not to cut the straps sewn onto them)

There is no such thing as perfection. But this backpack is close to it. What do I miss? In the first large pocket, a velcro panel for attaching organizers. The side pockets for canteens could be deeper, because typical NATO bottles slip out and can fall. That's all my comments. On the plus side - capacity, regular shape, comfortable carrying system, the zippers don't jam and work smoothly, solid thick material, color (but that's a matter of taste). For me, it serves as a backup backpack for car trips. It nicely fits a booster/power pack, first aid kit, tarp, set for boiling water, several packs of freeze-dried food, coffee, tea, mugs, multitool, hatchet, knife, large gomboy, blanket, small stuff and... it's still not full :) And that's exactly what I wanted!!!

The backpack is not cheap but absolutely worth its price. Very spacious and exceptionally roomy. The straps are strong, durable, and comfortable. The solid zippers move smoothly. Additionally, a big plus for the rain cover included with the backpack.

I've had it for a while now, so I've had some time to test it out. I really like its spaciousness, the extra pockets, and of course the included cover. Maybe the pack is big, but those 40 liters really make a difference and let you stuff in quite a lot of gear. The side pockets with compression straps are awesome—an AR stock fits there just fine.

Wisport Sparrow 40L backpack Advantages: spacious, well made, Disadvantages: lack of MOLLE straps on the front of the backpack, water bottle pockets are a bit tight (generally a 1L bottle won't fall out but they could be bigger) Summary: I haven't had a better backpack
-
The backpack is made of great, top-quality materials—everything is at a world-class level like 5.11, Oakley, Mystery Ranch, etc. The stitching is excellent, the AFS carrying system is very comfortable, and inside there's a good division of compartments; the number of mesh pockets is spot-on. However, in my opinion, the backpack was overdesigned in some aspects. First: the lack of MOLLE on the front and replacing the MOLLE with two straps is a mistake. Second: the upper attachment of the shoulder straps is lower than usual, which makes the backpack stick out with no way to adjust it. Third: side pockets are not useful, a 1-liter Camelbak bottle just falls out—unless these pockets are meant for something else. Additionally, the side MOLLE straps have too few rows. And finally, the cover strips for the zippers are poorly designed; they don't return to the closed position and often get caught on the zippers. So, unfortunately, after some thought, I returned it and am still looking for a 40-liter backpack.
-
Solid workmanship, nothing is coming apart, the stitches are even, using it is definitely comfortable, and the price-to-quality ratio is also very good. The backpack can be recommended with confidence.
-
Good backpack. Well-thought-out design. According to the manufacturer's data, it weighs almost 2 kilos when empty. I don't feel that. I think it's quite light for its size. Together with the backpack, you get a rain cover. The cover is hidden in a pocket at the bottom of the backpack. The rain cover is a big plus. The backpack itself is solidly made. I recommend it—it's worth buying. I recommend it.

I switched from a Zipperfox 40L to this Sparrow. Previously, I also had a 30-liter Sparrow, but I needed something bigger and used the aforementioned Zipper 40. I lacked compartments in it; the backpack is very spacious, but one compartment with small pockets was not enough. In this one, however, I can easily plan my packing, and, best of all, this backpack is enough for a relaxed 3-day trip. The materials used are, of course, excellent Cordura and very good zipper protection. I highly recommend this backpack.

Wisport. A class of its own. Backpacks you can rely on in any conditions, literally. Just to be clear – I use two: 40 and 16, that's why I recommend them.
-
I had high expectations for this backpack, but unfortunately I was disappointed. Pros: -the quality and materials used are high standard. Cons: -the organizer is a complete misunderstanding. Not only is it impractical, but its position on the inner side of the outer flap causes the contents of the pockets, which of course have no zippers, to fall out. -there are no load adjustment straps at the shoulder straps. With such a large volume, this causes the backpack to stick out. It doesn't look good. -the flat pocket in the first compartment running from top to bottom. Similar to the one on the outer flap. It could at least be divided into two pockets. As it is, it's hard to find a use for such a deep and duplicated pocket. To sum up, I think this is an unfinished and not well thought out version of a backpack that has potential. Maybe someday there will be a SPARROW 40L 2 version... For now, return.
-
Generally, it is a well-made backpack. Unfortunately, the organizer is a failure. Not only is it located on the inner side of the front flap, which will cause problems with loose items when opened, but its poor quality is also truly disappointing. There is an option for reinforcement straps at the top of the shoulder straps. There aren't any. As a result, the backpack sticks out at the top, which could have been avoided. It's a pity. I was really enthusiastic about the purchase, but unfortunately, the magic is gone. Return.

Great backpack, just what I was looking for. I was hesitating between the ZipperFox 40 and this backpack, but its internal dimensions won. It is perfect for two- to three-day trips. The placement of Pals/Molle is, in my opinion, optimal. Thanks to the U-shaped zipper arrangement, you can access the entire contents of the main compartment very quickly. The carrying system is very comfortable. And there's also a built-in rain cover.
