AirSoft Gun - the necessary accessories

AirSoft Gun - the necessary accessories

To participate in ASG games, simply having a replica and a supply of balls will not be enough. Various accessories are also needed to support the player on the battlefield. These include many items such as protective goggles, gloves or a tactical waistcoat, which will not only make the field experience easier and more enriching, but also provide adequate protection.

Take a look at our guide on what kind of shpeje you might need for ASG shooting.

What ASG accessories are needed for the games?

The right equipment is the basis for fully enjoying ASG games. In addition to the replica weapon, accessories play a key role, which influence the comfort, safety and effectiveness of the player on the battlefield. It is worth remembering that the selection of ASG accessories should depend on the specifics of the game, the preferred style of play and the individual needs of the player.

Glasses for ASG - which ones to choose?

An essential piece of airsoft equipment, apart from the replica, is eye protection. No one is allowed on the ASG playing field without basic eye protection. This is one of the most important rules, next to common sense. Only approved ASG glasses or goggles, as cheap products of uncertain origin may not provide full ballistic eye protection.

The player chooses his or her own eye protection according to individual preferences - it can be goggles or glasses. Some players own several pairs of goggles adapted to different weather conditions. In the beginning, it is best to choose transparent goggles, which provide full spectrum vision in all weather conditions and are better than coloured goggles in reduced visibility. Further types can then be purchased.

Which ASG mask should I choose?

Many airsoft players choose to use masks instead of protective goggles alone, as they provide comprehensive facial protection. In addition to the safety aspect, masks are also an element of appearance that allows you to stand out on the battlefield.

Stalker-type masks that protect the cheeks, mouth and teeth from gunfire are a good choice. They do not impede breathing thanks to their air-permeable design. If you are looking for lighter protection, a neoprene ASG mask is worth considering. It also protects against adverse weather conditions such as gusty winds, rain, snow and low temperatures.

ASG waistcoat - what to look out for?

The waistcoat provides basic chest and back protection. In addition to its protective qualities, the waistcoat also provides a platform for carrying equipment. It is worth choosing a waistcoat equipped with the pals/MOLLE system. The use of this system allows for the attachment of additional magazine pouches, storage containers and general purpose organisers.

Many manufacturers of cheaper waistcoats often offer their products already in a ready-made set of necessary equipment, i.e. several pouches, a medical container, an administrative panel. Manufacturers of high-end waistcoats do not offer anything other than the waistcoat itself, but the quality of its workmanship compensates for the lack of equipment that must be purchased separately.

Gloves for ASG, protection for your hands

An essential accessory for hand protection. Hands are exposed to both bullet fire, abrasions, cuts and adverse weather conditions (rain or frost). It is advisable to stock up on gloves that, in addition to basic protection, have protective knuckle pads and gel cushions.

Backpack for ASG

The backpack is used to carry supplies of food, drinks, balls, change of clothes. Be sure to choose the size backpack to your needs so that you do not overload yourself. Most backpacks are equipped with the MOLLE system, so you can attach additional pouches to them as you would on a tactical waistcoat. ASG backpacks are available in a range of camouflage patterns to match the uniform worn.

ASG pistol holster

Whether it is a thigh holster, belt holster or shoulder holster, the most important thing is that it fits our model of gun and holds securely even during sudden and decisive movements. Many holsters in addition to just being able to easily carry the pistol, it offers the possibility to mount additional equipment or already has it integrated, such as a spare magazine loader.

The most commonly used holster by ASG players is the thigh-mounted model. Thanks to special systems, it allows the pistol to be carried comfortably on the leg, while retrieving the pistol as a sidearm is quick and easy - literally within arm's reach.

Additional holds

Charger is an essential piece of equipment for a waistcoat and every airsoft player. When selecting it, it is important to take into account which magazines it is adapted for. This is important because, for example, magazine pouches for M4/M16 magazines will not always fit to carry AKM/AK74 magazines.

What additional ASG equipment is worth having?

In addition to the accessories mentioned above, there are of course many other items that are worth an ASG player having. All sorts of accessories for replicas to make aiming easier are useful, protectors, radio communication equipmentj or spare magazines.

Accessories for ASG replicas

    • laser markers,
    • vertical grips,
    • optoelectronic sights (collimator or telescope),
    • vertical grips for improved aiming stability.

Additional protection measures

        • knee and elbow protectors, essential to protect joints from injury during active play;
        • mesh ‘stalker’ masks to protect the face and nose from direct bullet impact, especially recommended for CQB type games;
        • head protection/covering, may be a hat or cap, but also helmet. As with gloves, it is protection against cold, rain or snow and, of course, bullet fire.

Radiocommunications

Shortwave radios and radios are useful for long-distance communication with allies during gameplay. Listening headsets with a built-in microphone and a PTT button can additionally be connected to the radio, so you don't have to take the radio out of your pocket every time.

Seasonal protection measures

- clothing designed for autumn and winter, will come in handy especially during long Mil-Sim or LARP type shoots. Above all, you should pay attention to thermal underwear and protective gloves, but scarves and socks are important too!

- insect and tick repellents

Additional magazines

An extra magazine is an essential accessory when playing ASG. It is definitely easier to change the magazine (as in a firearm) than to refill the supply of bullets during firing. There are four basic types of magazines (not including magazines for gas replicas): Hi-Cap, Mid-Cap, Low-Cap and Real-Cap.

Hi-Cap is the abbreviation for high capacity, it is the most common type of magazine, which is usually fitted to replicas at the factory. It is characterised by a very high capacity, usually between 250 and 800 balls, but there are also models with a capacity of up to 2500 balls (drum or box type magazines). The main disadvantage of this type of magazine is the audible rattle effect caused by the movement of the balls in the chamber inside the magazine, which can easily give away our position.

Mid-Cap, or Medium capacity typically holds 130 to 200 rounds. The undesirable rattle effect does not occur with this type of magazine.

Low-Cap - it differs from mid-cap, low-cap magazines only in its capacity. On average, it holds between 50 and 100 rounds.

Real-Cap - the type of magazine most often purchased by realism fans. Its capacity always reflects the real number of rounds in the magazine from the flammable original. This means, for example, that a real-cap magazine in M4 or AKM replicas will have a capacity of 30 rounds.
