Bestech Knives Noctar Folding Knife - Black/Black Stonewash

A folding EDC (Everyday Carry) knife equipped with a 94.4 mm blade featuring a Drop-Point shape. Crafted from 14C28N stainless steel, the blade pairs with handle scales made from durable G10 laminate. A robust Crossbar-Lock mechanism secures the blade in the open position. Jimping along the spine of the blade provides enhanced thumb support.

Polish design

Grzegorz "Kombou" Grabarski stands out as a prominent Polish knife designer whose work is influenced by pop culture, video games, nature, and biomechanics, skillfully merging contemporary aesthetics with organic, futuristic shapes. Previously collaborating with the Brrr… Knives brand, his current partnership with Bestech Knives has brought his designs international acclaim among knife collectors.

14C28N stainless steel

Forged from 14C28N stainless steel, the knife blade benefits from a precisely optimized chemical composition, delivering high hardness. Balanced nitrogen levels ensure excellent corrosion resistance and bolster edge retention. The addition of carbon enhances cutting performance, while chromium offers superior protection against rust and oxidation.

Drop-Point blade, flat grind, jimping on the spine

A Drop-Point blade features a robust tip, offers straightforward sharpening, and delivers excellent cutting performance. The blade measures 94.4 mm in length and has a thickness of 3.5 mm. Finished with a flat grind, the blade receives a Black Stonewash treatment to reduce glare and create a matte appearance. Jimping, or spine serrations, are strategically positioned at the thumb rest to enhance blade control during use.

Convenient opening, Crossbar-lock

A thumb cutout in the blade enables effortless one-handed deployment of the knife. Outfitted with ceramic ball bearings, the mechanism delivers silky-smooth blade action for enhanced handling and user comfort. Blade security is ensured by a sliding CrossBar-Lock mechanism.

Ergonomic G10 laminate handle, steel deep-carry clip

The handle scales utilize G10 laminate, a material noted for its lightweight properties while offering exceptional resistance to damage, moisture, fluctuations in temperature, and most solvents and acids. An ergonomically contoured profile paired with a textured finish guarantees a firm and dependable grip. Secure, convenient carry is provided by a resilient steel deep-carry clip (tip-up, right-side carry), which easily affixes the knife to the edge of a pocket or belt.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
Crossbar Lock feature
Crossbar Lock
Crossbar Lock is the general name of the mechanism used after the Benchmade patent expired in 2018. The design works on the same principle as the Axis Lock - a spring bar moves along the handle and locks the blade in the open position. The differences between manufacturers mainly concern the details of workmanship, materials, and the shape of the switches. The lock is double-sided, easy to use, and extremely popular in modern EDC knives. Thanks to its versatility, it has become the standard for many companies.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
