Breathable TrekDry form-fitting material

The upper portion of the gloves features a breathable, lightweight TrekDry material with a form-fitting design, effectively minimizing hand perspiration. For optimal durability when working with heavy tools or in demanding environments such as construction sites, the gripping surface is crafted from tough DuraHide leather. Added reinforcement on the thumb and index finger includes an extra layer of material for superior protection.

Cuff with ribbing

A wide cuff equipped with ribbing delivers enhanced protection and ensures the gloves stay firmly in place on the wrist. An extra-wide entry opening allows for easy donning of the glove.

ANSI/ISEA 105-4XX and EN388-4111X standards

These gloves comply with the American safety standard ANSI/ISEA 105 at level 4XX for resistance to cutting, abrasion, and punctures, meaning:

  • 4: abrasion resistance (rated from 1 to 6)
  • X: cut resistance (rated from A1 to A9)
  • X: puncture resistance (rated from 0 to 5)

These gloves also conform to the protective standard EN388 at level 4111X for mechanical hazards, which indicates:

  • 4: abrasion resistance (rated from 0 to 4)
  • 1: cut resistance (rated from 0 to 5)
  • 1: tear resistance (rated from 0 to 4)
  • 1: puncture resistance (rated from 0 to 4)
  • X: cut resistance – TDM test (ISO 13997) (graded A–F)

Within the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, abrasion resistance is graded on a scale of 1 to 6, reflecting the number of abrasion cycles a fabric endures before wearing down. Cut resistance is measured between A1 and A9, with A1 representing the lowest and A9 the highest protection levels. Puncture resistance is given on a scale from 0 to 5, indicating the amount of force needed to perforate the glove’s surface with a sharp object (excluding needle punctures).

The rating scales used in the EN388 standard define the level of protection the gloves provide: a score of 0 signifies no protection, whereas the maximum ratings (4, 5) represent the highest resistance available.

The TDM (ISO 13997) testing method uses letters to denote cut protection, where A indicates the minimum level and F signifies the maximum level.

The X symbol denotes that a specific parameter has either not been tested or does not apply. The P symbol confirms that the glove satisfies the impact protection standard.

    In the segment of tactical gloves and similar products, FastFif by Mechanix is a classic of the genre. No unnecessary protectors—just gloves. Synthetic leather inside, and breathable material on top—ideal for summer. Well-fitted, but compared to wider models like M-Pact or Original, if you have a bigger hand, I recommend considering a larger size.

    Light gloves, just right for summer, ideal for shooting. For heavier work, e.g. with rough wood, they are only moderately suitable, as the material wears through quickly. They fit well; if you are unsure about the size, I recommend choosing the larger one, at least in the case of the Fastfit model.

    In my opinion, this glove model performs very well during outdoor activities. I use them both on shorter trips and on multi-day mountain expeditions, especially in demanding terrain where a fall could result in a hand injury. They also provide good protection when working with rope, firewood, or stones. They offer moderate protection from the cold, and at the same time in summer they do not cause excessive hand sweating. The Mechanix brand has a reputation for solid quality, and these gloves confirm that. The material on the inner side of the hand and fingers provides a good grip and allows the use of touchscreens. They are light, flexible, and compact enough to fit easily into almost any pocket. The elastic cuff holds them well on the wrist, although personally I would prefer a hook-and-loop closure, which would provide better adjustment. An additional loop allows them to be attached to a carabiner or hung on a hook. At the promotional price of €9.30, I believe this is an exceptionally good-value purchase. As for sizing, I normally wear size 9 in work and utility gloves; here I chose size XL and it fits well, although it is slightly snug.
