As a repellent, it works very well—no worse than DEET or Icaridin-based repellents. I removed one star due to the following issues: - Non-replaceable battery and no way to turn it off. Once you activate the device, it works "until it dies" (which is over half a year). Then you have to throw it away. - Sensitivity to water. My previous unit didn't survive a heavy rain. If you're making a sealed device, it could be made waterproof. - If many people use this device at the same time in an area and it runs non-stop, after a few days some people start to complain about sleep problems, irritability, etc. This could result from prolonged exposure to multiple ultrasonic sources. Safety studies have not considered such situations, so it's unclear if this really happens, if it's a nocebo effect, or merely a coincidence. In these cases, it would also be useful to have the option to turn the devices off.
TickLess Eco Ultrasonic Tick Repeller - for humans
TickLess - ultrasonic tick repeller is a compact and practical device that generates 40 kHz ultrasound, which is undetectable to both humans and animals, offering an effective solution for repelling ticks. Ultrasonic waves disrupt ticks’ ability to locate and follow hosts by blocking their sensory receptors, making it difficult for them to identify potential prey in their environment. The repeller proves highly effective during forest outings, time spent at the allotment, fishing trips, camping, bushcraft adventures, and any outdoor activities where exposure to ticks is possible. Ticks transmit serious diseases such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. Using TickLess significantly lowers the risk of tick bites, thereby reducing the chance of infection and serious illness.
NOTE: Despite efficient and correct use of the device, a tick might still accidentally come into contact with skin or clothing. Nevertheless, the ultrasonic signal produced by the repeller continues to significantly reduce the likelihood of the tick proceeding to the attachment stage.
Operating range, IP13 rating
Ticks rely on the Haller organ, located on the first leg, to detect prey. The ultrasound generated by the device disrupts the ticks’ ability to sense stimuli through this specialized organ. With an effective range of approximately 2 meters, the device delivers reliable protection. For optimal dispersion of ultrasonic waves, the TickLess unit should be attached to the outer layer of clothing. Attaching the device to a backpack, belt, or other clothing item is quick and convenient.
Engineered to be moisture-resistant in accordance with the IP13 rating, the device should be protected from direct water exposure to maintain optimal functionality.
Safety and environmental protection
TickLess Eco poses no threat to the natural environment, does not release any chemicals, and offers easy usability. Safe for pregnant women, young children, pacemaker users, and seniors, TickLess Eco stands out as an excellent substitute for chemical repellents that could potentially trigger allergic reactions. Constructed from biodegradable plastic, the device can be dismantled once depleted; simply separate the casing from the remaining components. The casing may be placed in a compost bin or buried in the ground—thanks to its composition, it will break down naturally within a few months.
Device operation
To activate the device, remove the pin to enable operation and press the button. Four flashes from the green LED confirm that TickLess is powered on and functioning. While in use, a single green LED will blink every 5 minutes to signal ongoing operation. Automatic shut-off occurs after 8 hours, or the device may be manually powered down via the button—confirmed by a single long red LED flash. Operating time reaches approximately 3000 hours.

At first, I was skeptical of this device, unconvinced and a bit cautious. Likely because I often go to the forest and even with various products and repellents, I always brought back a few ticks “embedded” in my skin. Now I don’t have this problem anymore. I always take it with me out in the field. Of course, I don't let my guard down, and I always check myself when I get back. But Tickless has given me peace of mind, because it truly works. For me, it’s great.

I used it and had no ticks, so I hope it works. As for the "sounds" it makes, in my opinion they’re barely audible and you have to put the device to your ear to hear them.

A great gadget for rural trips and walks in the woods – TickLess Human Green protects with ultrasound (~2m range), no chemicals, works for a long time (3000h). Lightweight and really cool!
-
The device works discreetly, easy to carry. In my case, I noticed fewer ticks after walks. It doesn't guarantee 100% protection, but it brings peace of mind.

I spend a few hours a day in the forest and, so far, I haven't brought any ticks home. Before, I would get one from time to time, so I guess it works. Sometimes I carry it in a side pocket because I’m afraid it could slip off my belt and I’d lose it. Unfortunately, during work, I sometimes turn it off by accident, so I have to check it from time to time. In general, I am satisfied so far.

An ultrasonic device that works effectively. Small, handy, and doesn’t make noise. The biggest advantage is that there are no chemicals. However, remember that any repellent isn't a magic wand and if you go somewhere swarming with ticks, you might still catch something. I recommend the product and the store Militaria.pl.

I spend a lot of time in the forest and so far I haven’t noticed any ticks on my clothes or body, so I guess it really works. Definitely worthy of a recommendation.

My wife and I have been using this device for two years and in that time no ticks have attached to us, and we're outdoors almost every day. So far my wife had Lyme disease six times, fortunately always detected early. As botanists, we know many people with tick problems, but it was rarely the case that someone brought home more than 2-3 ticks. And the dozen or so mentioned in a previous review is sheer fantasy.

It seems that the device works. I bought it for my wife, who used to bring home ticks from every trip to the forest/park, etc. Throughout the whole season wearing Tickless she didn’t catch any ticks. The device still works nearly a year after being activated.
-
I give it one star only because you can’t give zero, and I honestly envy everyone for whom this device worked. In my case—two walks with TickLess on my belt and each time I brought home around a dozen ticks. You could say only a dozen because I removed the rest on the go as I spotted them earlier. I returned the product, hats off to Militaria.pl for quick and positive handling of the complaint.

A product worth its price. As always, products from this manufacturer are of the highest quality and there’s nothing to complain about. I’ve been using them for two years and haven't had a single tick attached to my body. My dogs also have the version for animals on their collars and also haven’t brought any ticks home from walks. Now you can safely roam the forest.
