TickLess - ultrasonic tick repeller is a compact, convenient tool designed to emit 40 kHz ultrasonic waves, which remain inaudible to both humans and animals, yet are highly effective in deterring ticks. Ultrasonic emissions disrupt the orientation and tracking abilities of ticks by blocking their sensory receptors, impeding their ability to identify hosts within their environment. Exceptionally suited for woodland hikes, allotment work, fishing, camping, bushcraft outings, and various outdoor pursuits where exposure to tick bites is heightened. Ticks transmit serious diseases such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. Utilizing TickLess significantly reduces the likelihood of tick bites, lowering the chances of infection and severe illness.
NOTE: Even with proper and effective operation of the device, occasional contact with ticks on clothing or skin may occur. Still, the ultrasonic signal remains effective in substantially decreasing the chance of ticks advancing to the attachment stage.
Ticks detect potential hosts by utilizing the Haller organ situated on the first leg. The ultrasound generated by the device efficiently prevents ticks from registering signals through this sensory structure. With an operational radius of approximately 2 meters, reliable protection is provided. Wearing the TickLess device on the outermost layer of clothing enables optimal distribution of ultrasonic waves. The unit can effortlessly be attached to gear such as a backpack, belt, or any other apparel.
Constructed from robust plastic, the device offers resistance to moisture in accordance with the IP13 standard; however, exposure to direct water contact should be avoided.
TickLess poses no risk to the environment, releases no chemicals, and offers straightforward operation. The device is entirely safe for pregnant women, young children, individuals with pacemakers, and seniors, providing a superior alternative to chemical repellents, which may sometimes provoke allergic reactions.
To activate the device, remove the pin to engage power, then press the button. Activation is confirmed when four green LEDs flash, signaling that TickLess is operational. While in use, a single green LED flashes every five minutes for status indication. Automatic shutdown occurs after eight hours of operation, or power can be manually turned off via the button, confirmed by one long red LED blink. Operational life is approximately 3000 hours.
