TickLess - ultrasonic tick repeller is a compact and portable device that emits ultrasonic waves at a frequency of 40 kHz, which cannot be heard by humans or animals, providing efficient tick deterrence. The ultrasonic signal disrupts the tick’s ability to orient and locate hosts by interfering with their sensory receptors, making it difficult for them to identify potential prey in the environment. Ideal for woodland excursions, allotment gardening, fishing trips, camping, bushcraft adventures, and any outdoor activity where tick exposure is a risk. Ticks transmit serious diseases such as Lyme disease and tick-borne encephalitis. NOTE: Even with proper and effective use of the device, occasional contact with clothing or skin by a tick may occur. The ultrasonic signal produced still acts to decrease the chance of the tick progressing to the attachment stage.
Ticks detect their hosts using the Haller organ found on the first pair of legs. The ultrasound generated by the device effectively disrupts the stimuli that ticks receive through this sensory organ. With an operational range of approximately 2 meters, users can rely on robust protection. For optimal performance, wear the TickLess device on the outermost layer of clothing, allowing ultrasonic waves to disperse without obstruction. The unit is easily attachable to a backpack, belt, or other garments thanks to its practical clip design.
Constructed from tough plastic, the device is moisture resistant according to the IP13 standard, though direct exposure to water should be avoided.
TickLess poses no threat to the environment, releases zero chemicals, and offers straightforward usability. To activate the device, remove the pin to initiate operation, then press the button. Four green LED flashes confirm that TickLess is powered on and functioning. A green LED will blink once every five minutes during use. After 8 hours, the device shuts off automatically but may also be turned off manually using the button, indicated by a single long red LED flash. Operating time is approximately 3000 hours.
