Bestech Knives QUQU Aluminum Folding Knife - Purple

Practical folding knife conceptualized by eight-year-old Gogo—the daughter of Bestech Knives’ co-owner. The design draws inspiration from a cricket and was perfected in conjunction with acclaimed knife designer Ostap Hel, whose reputation is built on minimalist, contemporary aesthetics and exceptional functionality.

Emerging from this unique partnership, the compact folder showcases a lightweight build and distinct visual character, merging the imaginative vision of a child with expert attention to ergonomic comfort and everyday utility.

14C28N stainless steel and protective coating

The blade is crafted from 14C28N stainless steel, a material engineered by the Swedish manufacturer Sandvik. The chemical formulation of this steel has been fine-tuned for exceptional hardness. An optimized nitrogen level ensures sustained corrosion resistance and enhances edge retention. With the addition of carbon, superior cutting performance is achieved, while chromium delivers outstanding protection against rust and oxidation. The blade features a DLC coating on its surface.

blade with a spear-point profile, smooth cutting edge

Equipped with a blade featuring a Spear-Point design, the model is distinguished by its symmetric profile and sharply tapered tip, allowing for accurate cutting and efficient piercing. The blade’s length is 56 mm and features a smooth cutting edge, ensuring excellent performance for daily use and lighter outdoor activities. Manufactured with a flat grind, the blade delivers reliable cutting efficiency, minimizes friction during slicing, and simplifies future sharpening.

A fuller in the form of a longitudinal groove runs along the blade, not only enhancing its dynamic look but also optimizing the blade’s balance, thereby improving control throughout operation.

handy handle, spring clip

Featuring a non-slip textured grip, the practical handle is crafted from lightweight yet robust aluminum alloy. Everyday carry is made convenient by a resilient steel clip, which can be swapped to the opposite side of the handle for versatile use.

button lock, ball bearing

Deploy the blade via a button that disengages the Button Lock mechanism, combined with a swift flick of the wrist. Blade deployment is further enhanced through the integration of a ceramic ball bearing in the knife's main axis.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
Button Lock feature
Button Lock
Button Lock (also known as Plunge Lock) is a locking mechanism in folding knives based on a spring button. When fully opened, the tang enters a notch at the base of the blade and locks it in the working position; when closed, the same element acts as a detent. The design allows for smooth opening and closing with one hand and increases safety, as it does not require the user to place their fingers on the blade line. Thanks to its simplicity and reliability, the Button Lock is often used in EDC knives and collector's models.
DLC - Diamond-Like Carbon feature
DLC - Diamond-Like Carbon
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is a modern protective coating in which a thin layer of amorphous carbon with a structure similar to diamond is applied to steel. It increases the hardness and abrasion resistance of the blade, protects against corrosion, and reduces friction during cutting. The characteristic matte shade of black or anthracite gives the knife a tactical look and eliminates light reflections, which is important in military and outdoor applications. Thanks to its high scratch resistance, the blade retains its aesthetics and functional properties for longer, which is why the DLC finish is widely used in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
Aluminium feature
Aluminium
Aluminum is a lightweight and durable material widely used in knife manufacturing, especially in handles and structural elements. It is characterized by low weight, high corrosion resistance, and high susceptibility to machining and anodizing, which allows for durable, aesthetic surfaces in various colors. Well-chosen aluminum alloys provide adequate rigidity while maintaining low weight, which makes knives more comfortable to carry on a daily basis. In addition, this material is weather-resistant, does not rust, and withstands intensive use well, which is why it is used in tactical knives, EDC knives, and outdoor tools.
