Excellent waist bag. It fits simply everything. Top quality workmanship as always from Wisport. It's 100% compatible with the Sparrow II 30L backpack. Using the Molle system, you can attach it to the backpack in various configurations—from the bottom, the side, or the front, an excellent solution. I recommend it to everyone.
Wisport Gekon Waist Bag - MAPA
Constructed from Cordura, offering ample storage space, exceptional durability, and dependable performance, the waist bag holds essential gear securely, eliminating the need for bulky backpacks or loading trouser pockets.
Spacious main compartment, 2 pockets
Main compartment and two additional pockets included:
- Main storage section, secured with a dual-direction zipper
- Front pocket, also fitted with a dual-direction zipper
- Flat rear pocket positioned closest to the body, equipped with a single-direction zipper
Main compartment features an internal flat pocket with zipper closure and a mesh divider. On the opposite side, elastic straps are sewn in for efficient gear organization (for example, multitool, flashlight, knife, or writing instruments).
Inside the front pocket are sewn-in elastic bands for quick item organization, with a mesh divider situated opposite.
Paracord loops are attached to the ends of each dual-direction zipper, reducing zipper noise and serving as backup lashing points. The zipper of the main compartment features a protective strip to shield against dirt buildup.

Camouflage MAPA
Developed by Maciej Dojlitko, a graduate and current faculty member at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk’s Faculty of Architecture and Design, the MAPA camouflage pattern stands out as an ingenious concept. Dojlitko, who authored works such as Theory of Deconstruction of Visual Communication. Tools for designing military camouflage (Gdańsk 2015), anchored the design in thorough theoretical research and extensive trials, including computer analyses of thousands of terrain photographs. These efforts captured the interest of experts and manufacturers of military apparel. The MAPA camouflage premiered at the 2017 International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce as part of the Dromader accouterment and uniform system by Maskpol, a member company of the Polish Armaments Group. While the system was originally developed for Territorial Defense Force soldiers, MAPA was also evaluated as a prospective pattern for the entire Polish Armed Forces, considered as a successor to the wz.93 camouflage. Despite its advantages, MAPA has not yet been officially adopted by the Polish Army.
The main features of MAPA camouflage in the basic forest variant
- 6 colors arranged in stratified layers reminiscent of map contours
- palette precisely tuned for operational effectiveness in Central European forests
- employment of three-dimensional illusion and anamorphic visual effects
- biomorphic motifs give the pattern a resemblance to natural vegetation
- marked contrast elements mimic dynamic flashes of light and shifting shadows
- macro pattern disrupts and obscures the wearer’s silhouette
- micro pattern replicates visual noise for enhanced concealment
As an innovative alternative to leading contemporary camouflage patterns—including PenCott, MultiCam, Kryptek, Flecktarn, and Finnish M/05—the MAPA design surpasses many in technological sophistication and offers improved color accuracy for Central European woodland environments, especially from late spring through early autumn.

Fastex buckles are a popular type of fastener consisting of two parts that snap together, and pressing both sides of the buckle on the sides causes it to come undone. They are often used to fasten belts, backpack pockets and other items where fast and secure fastening and unfastening are crucial.

A well-made and spacious waist bag, which not only has several independent pockets, but also additional straps in the pockets, allowing you to keep your belongings organized. It works well not only for work but also for everyday use. The velcro panels on the front allow you to attach patches as needed, and the MOLLE system elements allow for modifications if necessary. The price is quite high, but at this moment I think it is worth having.

The waist bag is very spacious but at the same time the number of pockets and additional elastic bands inside the pockets allow you to organize the equipment you carry. The zippers seem solid. Time will tell about durability, but it appears to be well made.
-
The waist bag is really nice, it fits everything I need from my EDC. Well organized, solid zippers, great looks too, although that’s a matter of taste. The only downside is that the straps are a bit "slippery", but you can weave them into the buckles so they won't come loose. Surprisingly roomy. Perfect for a phone, wallet, multitool, lighter, flashlight, and a few other small EDC items. Great for cycling, the city, and survival. I recommend it. Really nice and useful thing.

A piece of a powerful kidney bag. But for its size, it's very comfortable. Almost as roomy as Sparrow Egg, I think. I have it and the Helikon Possum, and I use them interchangeably. The mounting works well on Wisport backpacks.
-
The waist bag is large, spacious, made of solid material, with a useful and easy-to-organize MOLLE system. Unfortunately, the unit I received is missing paracord on the zipper of the main compartment, which can be useful when wearing gloves.
-
I recommend the bag, it is large, roomy and well thought out. I have already tested it on a longer trip and wore it for several hours in a row, so I can say something about it. It holds a lot (phone, wallet, 20k mAh powerbank, cables, and some small snacks), the main zipper is very solid and large, the workmanship is phenomenal as always with Wisport. I did not have a problem with the strap loosening (as in the review below); it held well, and there are safeguards to prevent the straps from slipping out of the buckles completely, so the bag may only slide down if we loosen the strap a bit. The pockets are also well designed. The buckles are solid and cannot be detached by accident. The only thing I can question is that it is hard to use the smaller pocket on the belt side when you have it on, but you can pack things there that you rarely take out. There is no point in looking for faults at all costs; this is a waist bag and it does its job very well. I recommend it.

Nice, but that's all that can be said about it. The carrying strap is very strong but made of very slippery material. Combined with the buckles, which do not prevent the strap from sliding in any way, it does not ensure safe carrying of the bag. While wearing, the strap loosens more and more, which leads to the risk of slipping out of the buckles and falling off along with the contents. Many pockets, which are pointless. Right away, I removed one inner mesh pocket; it only interferes when inserting larger items because it has an open structure and "catches" everything you put in the bag. I do not recommend it. Especially at this price.

Wisport Gekon waist bag – surprisingly spacious. Ideal for a phone, wallet, multitool, and some beef jerky. Great for cycling, the city, and survival. I recommend it.
-
The Gekon kidney bag is a solid and convenient option for EDC – everything fits where it should. The only thing missing is a dedicated loop for keys, which would increase safety.
-
Gekon waist bag is excellently made, comfortable, and perfect for EDC. Everything is in place and at hand. The only thing missing is a dedicated key loop for extra safety.
-
Very well-made hip bag. I have been using it for some time and I am very satisfied with the purchase. The hip bag is durable and very spacious. The MAPA camouflage looks much better in real life than in the photos. I recommend it.
-
The capacity of the kidney bag from Wisport allows you to fit the most necessary items, such as a phone, keys, and snacks. The material is waterproof, so I can be calm about the contents even on rainy days. The adjustable strap fits the body perfectly, which ensures wearing comfort. I definitely recommend it!
-
The product is solidly made. Materials with high durability were used. The waist bag is big, but at the same time spacious, which is helpful for longer trips. The drawback is that the straps loosen. I recommend securing them well.
-
I bought it as a successor to the Helikon Bandicoot. The Wisport definitely has an advantage in the width of the straps and the number of pockets. And it fits better, even when stuffed with all kinds of EDC “treasures.” I recommend it.
