Polish project

Ostap Hel stands out as a renowned Polish designer, recognized for his unique and contemporary creations. Noted for harmonious proportions, sleek lines, and meticulous craftsmanship, his knives offer exceptional comfort in use. Designing both original pieces and working in collaboration with industry leaders like WE Knife and Bestech Knives, he brings innovation and quality to every project.

14C28N stainless steel

Forged from 14C28N stainless steel, the knife blade delivers outstanding cutting performance and excels in resistance to abrasion and mechanical wear. An optimized nitrogen content preserves corrosion resistance while extending edge retention. The inclusion of carbon enhances cutting efficiency, and the addition of chromium provides superior defense against rust and oxidation.

Spear-Point profile, jimping

Featuring a blade with a Spear-Point profile, designed with a reinforced tip for durability, straightforward sharpening, and excellent slicing capability. Blade measures 84.8 mm in length and has a thickness of 2.4 mm. Finished using the Stonewash technique, the blade displays a semi-matte finish. Jimping along the spine at the thumb rest area provides improved control over the blade during use.

Liner Lock, flipper

A flipper enables rapid blade deployment, enhanced by a ball bearing integrated into the knife’s central pivot. Secure blade retention in the open position is ensured with the Liner Lock mechanism.

G10 laminate, springy clip

Featuring ergonomically contoured handle scales crafted from G10 laminate, the knife offers superior control and secure handling. A specialized cut-out for the index finger enhances grip during use. Carrying comfort is provided by a flexible, deep-carry steel clip (tip-up, right or left side), which allows for easy and secure attachment to a belt or pocket edge. The clip is designed for installation on either the right or left side.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
